Use a current mobile browser with WebAssembly and WebGL support. Add a NES or GBA game you have the right to use, or try the original Star Catch demo. Local play does not require an account.
A controller on your screen
Touch controls appear automatically on small screens or touch-first devices. The player toolbar lets you show or hide them at any time. Use the direction pad, including diagonal directions, with A or B at the same time. Start and Select are below the pad; GBA games also have L and R shoulder buttons.
Controls sit beside or below the game, not over its picture. Hold a button to keep it pressed, slide across the direction pad to change direction, and release to stop. The direction pad has a neutral center and slightly damped diagonal boundaries. Action touches stay attached to the button you first pressed, so sliding toward a neighboring button does not accidentally activate it. Leaving the page or cancelling a touch releases the held controls. An external gamepad or keyboard remains an option.
Choose your controller finish
Use Theme in the player header to choose Classic Violet, Pearl, Graphite or Archive Olive. The game pauses while you choose, and each system remembers its theme on this device. Themes keep the same button positions and touch targets. Pressed visuals react immediately; release transitions respect reduced-motion preferences. Optional vibration is in Theme settings and defaults off. It works only when the browser and device support it; iPhone and iPad Safari skip it.
Portrait and landscape
Portrait stacks the game and controls. Landscape uses a handheld layout: the direction pad is on the left, the game is in the center, and A/B are on the right. GBA L/R sit above the corresponding grip, with Select/Start below. Fullscreen support varies by browser; if native fullscreen is unavailable, the player uses an expanded in-page view. Rotate your device for a larger play area.
Keep a backup
Local autosave runs every 30 seconds and attempts a final save when you close the player. Mobile operating systems can suspend tabs without warning, so save to a slot and export important progress before leaving. Browser storage may be cleared or evicted.
Compatibility
Responsive layout and controller input logic are tested in desktop browser mobile-size views. Real iOS and Android hardware, multi-finger latency, audio policies and every game have not all been certified. If audio is silent, tap the player and check Mute. If performance is poor, close other tabs and avoid power-saving mode.
Back up and move your progress
Follow the save backup and restore tutorial, including a practice run with our original Star Catch demo and limits for other emulator formats.
