Make yourself at home.

1. Add your own games

Choose .nes or .gba files, or a ZIP with one supported game. You can choose several files together. Everything is processed locally; game files are stored in this browser’s IndexedDB. Importing the same contents twice keeps one library entry.

2. Play and pause

Select a game to open the player. Its engine downloads on first use. Click the game to give it keyboard focus. Controls opens the emulator’s key and gamepad settings; Pause, Mute and Fullscreen are in the player toolbar. Touch control availability depends on the device and browser.

3. Choose a save slot

There is one automatic slot and three manual slots per game. Save here captures the game’s current state. Load sends that slot back to the emulator. An existing compatible autosave is loaded when you reopen the game. Saving to an occupied slot replaces that slot.

Autosave runs every 30 seconds while visible, and attempts to save when the player is closed or the page becomes hidden. It cannot guarantee a final save if the browser crashes, the device loses power, or the operating system suspends the page immediately.

Export and import

Export current state downloads a .wasmarcade-save.json backup. Keep it outside the browser. To restore it, open the matching game and choose Import a save backup. Backups are checked against the ROM fingerprint, system, engine version and checksum.

After an import, automatic saving is turned off. Check the game’s progress before saving to a slot or enabling Auto again. Importing a backup does not immediately replace an existing local slot. Other emulators’ raw .sav, .srm and .state formats are not supported by this importer.

Storage and removal

Settings shows approximate storage usage and lets you request persistent storage. The browser decides whether to grant it. Clearing site data still removes your library and saves. To remove one game, open its details and choose Remove game; its local saves are removed too, but your original file is untouched.

When something goes wrong

If storage is unavailable, try a normal window rather than private browsing. If a file is rejected, check its format, size and whether the ZIP contains just one game. For a blank player, allow WebAssembly/WebGL and wait for the first engine download. Close and retry if it does not start.
